- More Options, More Style, More Home: At Fensterbau Frontale, Continental Surface Solutions (SSL) will reinforce its leading position in design and technology.

- More styles for windows: new colors are broadening the opportunities available for building owners and architects to pick up on the latest trends and set standards

- New Options for Discerning Homeowners: Thanks to an innovative process, exterior doors with a wood-look finish are now possible without any visible butt joints.

Hanover, Germany, January 21, 2026. Continental has launched cross-printing technology that allows extensive wood-look surfaces to be produced in a cross-printed format for doors. With this innovation, the Surface Solutions business area is offering building owners and architects the opportunity to create natural-looking wood-look doors, even without butt joints, that look as though they were produced using a single piece of wood. To create this option for the sector, Continental developed a special printing procedure at its location in Weißbach (Baden-Württemberg) that specializes in surfaces for the furniture and construction industry. The new surfaces will be available from the end of 2026, and visitors will get a first glimpse at Fensterbau Frontale (hall 5, booth 202) in Nuremburg, from March 24 to 27, 2026.

Because personalized homes are more beautiful: debut for new colors for window frames

After the mattex surface material, which is based on powder-coated aluminum, made its debut at Fensterbau Frontale 2024, the focus is now on offering even more options for this range as well as for the woodec range. The color palette for windows, doors, garage doors and facades will be expanded accordingly to include new variants. The main focus for the designers is to offer suitable options that pick up on current trends. For example, additional options for matte looks or natural, earthy tones. When developing products, the experts at Continental follow the principle that the sense of home and comfort begins on the outside, and every building owner should therefore have the opportunity to create highlights in the facade design and express their own individual style.

As a surface specialist, Continental also focuses on functional and design-oriented materials for the automotive, furniture and construction, print and DIY sectors. The international tire manufacturer and industry specialist has pooled together its surface expertise for all industries in the Surface Solutions business area. Around 6,000 employees develop, produce and market surface materials at 25 locations in Germany, Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain and the USA.

Continental surfaces for the Exterior Living segment are specially developed for outdoor areas. These surfaces are permanently in use as industrial coatings for diverse building elements such as windows, doors, garage doors and facade panels.
