Continental tires take first place in 15 tests
- Seven test wins for Continental's AllSeasonContact 2
- More than two-thirds of European tire buyers use independent tire test results as top purchase criteria
Hanover, Germany, November 13, 2024. Winter and all-season tires from Continental are a good and safe choice, as confirmed by international automobile clubs and trade magazines. In the European press tests published this year, Continental's product portfolio took first place 15 times. In addition to these victories, Continental's winter and all-season tires were on the podium in ten other tests this year.
The WinterContact TS 870, developed by Continental especially for small and mid-sized cars, shone with victories in the winter tire tests of the German automobile club ADAC, the German magazine Auto Bild and the British trade magazine Auto Express. The WinterContact TS 870 P for more powerful vehicles won the winter tire test of the Polish magazine Motor. The VikingContact 8, designed for particularly harsh Scandinavian winters, won the tests of the Scandinavian magazines Teknikens Värld and Mootori.
Continental's latest all-season tire, the AllSeasonContact 2, is dominating this year's all-season tire tests: Germany's ACE, which tested the "all-rounder" in winter and summer together with the testing organization GTÜ and Austria's ARBÖ, chose it as the test winner with the rating "highly recommended". It was also the top performer in tests conducted by the German Auto Zeitung, sport auto and the British online medium "Tyre Reviews".
Independent tire test results remain top purchase criteria
Independent tire tests by automobile clubs and trade magazines are an important guide for drivers. According to a 2023 study by Continental, more than two-thirds of European tire buyers consider the results of independent tire tests to be very important when choosing a tire. Tire tests usually cover more than ten criteria and show the qualities of the tested products on winter, wet and dry roads, often together with rolling resistance and road/tire noise. This gives the consumer a much more differentiated picture than the information provided by the EU tire label.
